Dr. Megan Urbassik

Megan Urbassik, PhD, LCP, NCSP, received her formal training as a school psychologist at Penn State. After earning her PhD, Megan began working for a large county in northern Virginia as a school psychologist. In 2017, she became a licensed clinical psychologist and began working in private practice where she provides both evaluation services and therapy.

Megan’s evaluation services are available for children through young adults and aim to provide diagnostic clarity for presenting concerns. In addition to identifying any presenting difficulties through evaluation, Megan also works to identify strengths in each child to foster resiliency and growth in social, emotional, behavioral, and academic functioning.

Megan’s therapy services target children and adolescents for a variety of presenting issues. She provides therapy mainly through telehealth appointments, but also offers in person appointments. Her primary therapy foci include anxiety, behavioral problems, and parent coaching.

Megan’s education, clinical training, and experiences with children across settings, ages, and backgrounds in both public and private settings allow her to provide a unique perspective. She is well-versed in the intersection of private diagnoses and the public education system in addition to federal and state special education law and the policies in large Northern Virginia school systems.
